Somali pirates hijacked Saturday the vessel “Polar,” owned by Athens Company “Paradise Navigations SA.” with three Montenegrin citizens aboard.
Montenegrin Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that representatives of “Paradise Navigations SA.,” a company that falls into the category of best and most reliable sailing companies in Greece, have conveyed assurance that the Company will do its best to stop the hijack as soon as possible without risking the lives and safety of the sailors. They also asked for the names of the sailors not to be disclosed, and urged the media to moderate their reports in the interests of the safety of the sailors and their families. The Foreign Ministry closely cooperates with its counterpart in Serbia, whose one citizen is also aboard the hijacked vessel.
A representative of the Greek MFA conveyed to Montenegrin Ambassador Armenko MFA’s deep concern over the case, as well as hope that the situation will be ended positively soon and that any further information will be promptly communicated to the Embassy.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has shared all available information with the families of the kidnapped Montenegrin sailors and will continue to provide timely information for the public on all the details available.
