The Montenegrin police have arrested Dusko Saric, a national of Montenegro and suspected drug-lord Darko Saric's brother. The arrest has been carried out under NCB Interpol Rome warrant and in close cooperation with the Italian police authorities. In the same operation, two Serbian nationals, Vitomir Bajic and Srpko Klisura, have been arrested as well.

The operation complements the efforts of the Italian judicial authorities at collecting evidence against a major international criminal organisation of over 100 individuals from several European countries, involved in organised acquisition, smuggling and distribution of narcotics in Italy and the rest of Europe. Based on the evidence gathered, three months ago, the Italian and Montenegrin police started working together to collect evidence against suspects in Montenegro. The investigation has led to the arrests of Saric, Bajic and Klisura.

The two countries’ law enforcement agencies previously worked closely on operations Checkmate, Adriatic, and Pink Panther, which resulted in arrests, extraditions and seizure of 200kg of cocaine.
