Statement of the Deputy Prime Minister of and Finance Minister Mr. Igor Lukšić, PhD., following the discussion with the Finance Minister of Slovenia Mr. Franc Križanič, PhD

"…Our two economies and our financial systems are very perplexed, thus it is necessary to provide for periodic meetings to exchange of views on all topics related to primarily the financial sector, but also the possible cooperation in other areas. I think that in this respect, that the cooperation between our ministries is extremely good. We had a chance to exchange opinions on the subjects of banking, insurance sector, and some other areas of the economy. Mr. Križanič has informed us about the effects of the measures that the EU will apply in the euro area, in order to influence the situation on the capital market. The joint assessment is that a lot has been done, it has proved to be useful and we have the stabilization of the status on the T-Bills market, which will certainly help many countries, including Montenegro, to provide financial resources for servicing its liabilities ... ".
