"For a long time, socio-economic development in Montenegro is accompanied by strong economic imbalances manifested in the uneven regional development. Complex and inherited economic phenomenon with the genesis conditioned by the historical, geographical, economic, and cultural and other factors, has proved to be a serious limit to intensify general economic growth. The current perception of the uneven regional development problem, triggering the efforts of Montenegro focused on developing a strategic development path, anteportas of the European integration, with the wish to articulate its commitment to accept the values and standards of the developed world, is indicating a necessity for the alignment of the concept of early adding value to extraordinary chances and comparative advantages of less developed regions in the aforementioned processes. Proceeding from this, the Regional Development Strategy of Montenegro is under development, which should profile the regional dimension of development of Montenegrin economy and its influence on the performance of general economic growth. Expectations that the concept of the Regional Development Strategy of Montenegro to be consistent with the reference national strategic development framework and the National Development Plan, which is the basic document for the strategic guidance of the instruments of EU cohesion policy, will be the basis for the future regional development of Montenegro, which will formulate a systematic framework for the policy of balanced regional development ...".
