Montenegro reaches out to partners for help in unprecedented flooding crisis

Chief of General Staff Vice-Admiral Dragan Samardzic has asked the Military Attachés accredited to Montenegro for help in dealing with the flooding crisis in Montenegro.
Addressing a regular biannual briefing with military attachés on Friday, he underlined the urgency of getting aid to the flood-affected areas, adding that Montenegro lacks the equipment needed for adequate response to this kind of natural disaster.
No country, big or small, can cope with issues such as this alone, but needs help from its friends, said Vice-Admiral Samardzic.
He announced that Montenegro has already reached out to NATO for help and availed himself of the opportunity to reiterate the request to the military attachés accredited to Montenegro.
Defence Minister Boro Vucinic stressed that Montenegro is facing an unprecedented natural disaster.
“The Government’s priority is to help the affected population and supply the necessary food and other essentials to the most threatened households,” said the Minister.
He also voiced hope that Montenegro’s efforts to combat the flood will be supported by its partners.
