Attainment of Objectives set by the European Employment Strategy through the IPA Funds

The establishment of the European Economic Community (EEC), today's European Union (EU), in the fifties, was aimed to achieve free flow of goods, capital and services. It was thought that the philosophy of "equal opportunities", was built into the system itself, thus the initial activities of the European Community were more economically oriented than social ones. The common market and the introduction of a common currency have led to changes that have caused the forming of an ambitious plan to develop a common European employment policy, which is linked to economic and social policies in all EU countries.
