Flood relief from Italy, Turkey and Slovakia reaches Montenegro

Relief shipments from Italy, Turkey and Slovakia arrived in Montenegro over the weekend.

BureauPresenting the donation from the Italian people, Ambassador Sergio Barbanti recalled Montenegro’s generosity shown to the people of the Italian region of Abruzzo in the aftermath of a powerful earthquake in 2009.

The Italian aid includes blankets, kitchenware, tents, boats and power generators.

 

 

BureauThe Turkish aid was presented by Ambassador Emine Birgen Keşoğlu “It is only natural for Turkey to help its friends at this difficult time. This could happen to Turkey and we too could find ourselves in need of help from our friends,” said the Ambassador.

 

 

 

BureauSlovakian Ambassador Frantisek Lipka underlined that the emergency relief shipment worth EUR 120,000 was only part of Slovakia’s aid to the flood-hit communities and pledged his country’s continuing support in repairing the flood damage.
