Civil society is an important segment of any democratic society, and the Government is determined to widen cooperation with the civil sector in order to become a full-fledged member of the highly developed European society, said Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic.

The Open Government event held Wednesday brought together students participating in this year’s internship programme organised by the NGO Centre for Democratic Transition (CDT) and a group of citizens on an open-day visit to the Government. The purpose of the event and the Open Government programme is to promote communication and trust between the citizens and the Government, as well as to facilitate the flow of information and transparency of the Government’s work, said the Prime Minister.

He underlined the importance of cooperation with the civil sector, pledging that the Government will give due attention to the issue, with the objective of attaining the basic task of improving the quality of lives of citizens.
