President Filip Vujanovic decided today, December 24, to nominate Dr Igor Luksic, current Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, to the Parliament for the office of Prime Minister.
The President said he has reached the decision to nominate Mr Luksic and thus accept the recommendation of the leading party (DPS) after the consultations with representatives of the political parties represented in the Parliament. President Vujanovic stated his conviction that Mr Luksic’s professional success thus far, as well as his political vision, further attest to this decision.
President Vujanovic said that he expects that the Speaker of the Parliament will convene a session next week where the Members of the Parliament will have an opportunity to learn about the agenda of the Prime Minister-designate and to express their views on his nomination.
