Montenegro will continue its open door policy and advancement of already successful cooperation with Greece and China, noted outgoing Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic during separate meetings with the two countries’ ambassadors in Podgorica on Monday.

Reminding Greek Ambassador Emmanuel Papadogiorgakis of what Montenegro has done in its European and Euro-Atlantic integration since 2006, Djukanovic stressed that Greek assistance has always been significant, in particular during 2008, when it was the NATO contact-country. In addition, he thanked the people of Greece for their help in repairing damage in recent unprecedented floods in Montenegro.

Ambassador Papadogiorgakis congratulated Montenegro on receiving candidate status for EU membership and expressed confidence that Montenegro was fully determined to respond to all the challenges that lie ahead over the next years.

BureauThe outgoing Prime Minister and Chinese Ambassador Zhi Zhaolin expressed satisfaction with bilateral relations and welcomed good cooperation in the fields of culture, education, defence and internal affairs, emphasising the need for further deepening and intensification of economic contacts.
