At the meeting with Ambassador of the United Kingdom Catherine Knights –Sands on Friday 18, Deputy Prime Minister Vujica Lazovic familiarised his guest with the economic indicators that point out to the recovery of Montenegrin economy after the financial crisis and setting grounds for the new investment cycle. "In this context Montenegro's investment policy is directed to investors from the EU countries in particular to the United Kingdom, as it is one of the oldest market economies, which can contribute to both direct inflow of capital and transfer of know-how, experience and technology, "said Lazovic.
Underlining the competitiveness of Montenegro’s investment climate, DPM Lazovic stressed the fact that the realisation of several investment projects by the UK investors would send a positive signal to other international investors. In this regard, the Government will promote the policy of open and constructive cooperation and building of an attractive investment environment, with tourism and energy as the two top priority areas for economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
DPM Lazovic and Ambassador Knight-Sands were unequivocal in their assessments that the positive cooperation between British investors and the Montenegrin Government, local authorities, local investors and non-governmental sector should be upgraded through investment conferences and round tables, which will be held in the near future.
