DPM Dusko Markovic welcomes further cooperation with Konrad Adenauer Foundation

Montenegro has had a very positive experience of cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, which will be continued in the coming period through concrete projects in a variety of areas, Deputy Prime Minister Dusko Markovic said at the meeting with KAS regional director for Serbia and Montenegro Henri Bohnet on Thursday, 3 March.
DPM Markovic described the Foundation’s past activities in Montenegro as very significant and acquainted Mr. Bohnet with the government’s top domestic and foreign policy priorities.
Particular reference was made to the implementation of the Action Plan for meeting the European Commission’s requirements for the opening of EU accession talks. In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed the Government’s full commitment and unreserved political will to fulfill the recommendations laid down in the European Commission’s Opinion on Montenegro EU membership application.
The meeting concluded that Montenegro is committed to regional and international cooperation and recognized as a positive example and a factor of stability in the Western Balkans.
The Konrad Adenauer Foundation is based in Germany, with more than 70 field offices and projects in more than 120 countries worldwide promoting democracy, the rule of law and social market economy.
The Foundation has been present in Montenegro since 1999 and has had its field office in the country since 2000. Its projects in Montenegro focus, in particular, on democratic development of institutions, European integration, the media, trainings for youth wings of political parties, support to local governments and educational reform.
