Montenegro and Croatia to sign agreement on enforcement of criminal judgments

Montenegro and the Republic of Croatia will soon sign the Agreement on Mutual Enforcement of Judgments in Criminal Matters, the text of which is to be initialled in Zagreb on 25 March, Montenegrin Justice Minister Dusko Markovic and his Croatian counterpart Drazen Bosnjakovic agreed on the sidelines of a conference on Counter Corruption Best Practices on Tuesday.
The conference is taking place in Zagreb, March 8-10, 2011, under the auspices of the U.S. State Department and the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies.
The two ministers also discussed the implementation of the Agreement on Extradition of Own Nationals and the need to sign an agreement on international legal assistance in civil and criminal matters. They further agreed that the work of the Joint Committee for the settlement of property and associated matters between the two countries should be continued.
It was noted that there are no outstanding issues between the two countries.
The Croatian side underlined that good neighborly cooperation will further be strengthened through Croatia’s support to Montenegro’s European integration process by sharing its own EU accession talks experience.
