The Government is creating an environment that welcomes investors, Prime Minister Igor Luksic said Wednesday, 16 March, as he hosted a meeting with representatives of 18 foreign companies from France, Ireland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Turkey, the UK, and the USA interested in investing in Montenegro.
The PM explained to the prospective investors that the economic and political stability in Montenegro guarantees safety of investments, underlining the importance of Government’s commitment to European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The economic policy of Montenegro, as PM Luksic said, is based on structural reform, maintaining macro-economic stability, and business environment improvement. He emphasised that these “cannot be achieved without foreign investment. That is why we are creating an environment that will send out a message: ‘Welcome to Montenegro.’”
The investors commended such Government efforts and openness to foreign investment as well as the new measures aimed at removing business barriers. They used the opportunity to present their projects in various areas: construction, infrastructure, energy, tourism, sustainable development, banking, high technology, insurance and real estate.
The meeting was also attended by the UK Ambassador, the US Chargé d’Affaires a.i. and the Russian Embassy’s First Secretary.
