Government facilitates employment of foreign nationals
Published on: Mar 25, 2011 • 9:36 PM Author: PR Bureau
As part of the efforts to remove potential barriers to business development, the Government has adopted the Bill amending the Aliens Act.
The amendments to the Bill provide for the possibility of issuing identity cards for foreign nationals who have been granted temporary stay in Montenegro. Furthermore, the age limit for foreign nationals entitled to IDs has been reduced from 16 to 14 years.
According to the proposed legislation, the deadline for deciding applications for temporary stay of foreigners has been reduced from 30 to 20 days.
The introduction of these provisions will make it easier for employers to hire foreign labour, particularly the categories that are in short supply in the domestic labour market, and produce a positive effect on the overall business environment in Montenegro, the Cabinet concluded.
