A seminar completed in cooperation with Maine

The Training Center in Danilovgrad today completed a seminar on "Inter-agency cooperation - Development of the Operational Center", organised by the U.S. Office of Defence Cooperation in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Defence of Montenegro, the National Guard of Maine, the Maine Disaster Center and the U.S. Embassy Charge d'Affaires in Montenegro.

The aim of the seminar was to establish cooperation with agencies of the Government of Montenegro, which are engaged in emergency response. Activities were undertaken during five days within the Agenda of the U.S. Civil-Military Cooperation Team and in accordance to the training and exercise of employees of the agencies of the Government of Montenegro, which are engaged in crisis situations.

The seminar was attended by members of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Army of Montenegro, governmental and other organizations which are engaged in disaster response. At the end of the seminar Diane Acurio, the US Army Corps of Engineers' program manager for Civil Military Emergency Preparedness (CMEP) and Zoran Begovic, Assistant Minister of Internal Affairs of Montenegro for Emergency Management, awarded the participants with certificates.

Host of the seminar, Commander of the Training Center, Colonel Željko Žegarac, said that the seminar participants significantly improved individual and collective capacity to respond in crisis situations.
