Celebrating 190 years of the Greek Revolution

The Embassy of Greece in Podgorica and the Ministry of Defence on March 25th celebrated 190 years of the Greek Revolution and the 130th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Montenegro and the Republic of Greece.

This year 25th of March marks the 190th anniversary since the outbreak of the Greek War of Independence (1821) that led to the establishment of the Modern Greek state.

Greek representatives laid a wreath that was brought from Athens at the statue of the great Greek hero Vaso Brajovic – Mavrbouniotis, who was of Montenegrin origin.

The Honorary Guard of the Army of Montenegro was present at the ceremony, as well as the Chief of Staff of the Army of Montenegro, Vice Admiral Dragan Samardzic and a number of diplomatic representatives accredited in Montenegro.
