Vucinic meets Jezovica

Minister of Defence Boro Vucinic welcomed the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic Milan Jezovica. Jezovica expressed his satisfaction over the increasing support for Montenegro's membership in NATO and stressed that Slovakia is ready to provide any assistance in the Euro-Atlantic integration. He was interested in what are the main challenges that Montenegro will meet along the Euro-Atlantic way in the future.
Minister Vucinic said that the main challenges are a continued engagement of the Army of Montenegro in peacekeeping missions, the realization of the first Annual National Programme (ANP), modernization and equipping the Army of Montenegro, and solving the issue of surplus weapons.
In further discussion, Minister expressed his appreciation for the assistance of Slovakia in increasing the public support for NATO, and he informed Jezovica that "NATO Information Centre" will be opened in recent future, which will significantly contribute to an increased public support. Minister Vucinic passed the Secretary of the Slovak Republic his impressions from the recent visit to the Montenegrin III contingent in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, and he expressed his satisfaction with the professional behavior and work of the members of the contingent during their tasks in the mission.
Jezovica stated that everyone is familiar with the contribution that Montenegro is giving in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, and he confirmed that this is a sign that Montenegro is ready to contribute to peace and stability in the world. In the end, he wished every success to Montenegro on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration and he expressed confidence that Montenegro will soon become a full member of NATO.
