Podgorica, Montenegro (15 April 2011) – Prime Minister Igor Lukšić met with Regional Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) Director Henri Bohnet for talks about KAS’s expert assistance to Montenegro’s EU accession bid.
“German support for Montenegro’s EU accession and its promotion of the enlargement policy is extremely important,” PM Lukšić said, describing the EU’s enlargement towards the Western Balkans as “an important European mission.”
PM Lukšić underlined the importance of KAS’s projects in Montenegro, adding that there is always room for improvement of the German-Montenegrin cooperation, especially in the areas of tourism, economy and business.
By the same token, KAS Regional Director Bohnet offered expert assistance to Montenegro in various areas, expressing particular interests in cooperation with ministries of justice, economy and health, as well as youth organisations, media and the NGOs.
Prime Minister Lukšić endorsed the past and future cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, adding that he believes they will complement the Government’s decision to include the whole of society in the ongoing reform processes.
