Bundestag delegation visit, opportunity to send out good news from Montenegro, PM Luksic expects

Podgorica, Montenegro (4 May, 2011) -- The aim of the visit of the German Bundestag’s delegation to Montenegro is to create a more clear picture of the situation in the country, and present the findings to its public and the EU institutions in charge of the enlargement policy, chief of the Delegation Frank Hofmann noted at the meeting with Prime Minister Igor Luksic.

In this regard, Prime Minister Igor Luksic voiced his confidence that the Delegation’s visit will result in collecting all the necessary information which will make a contribution to creating a positive image of Montenegro in the light of the progress made so far towards the EU and NATO accession.

"The integration process has taken as its objective to create a balance between domestic and foreign priorities that would be a reflection of what has realistically been achieved on the path towards European integration", PM Luksic remarked.

He also pointed out the Government's commitment to strengthening the rule of law and more effective functioning of the Montenegrin institutions.

The two officials assessed that relations between Montenegro and Germany as very good and further empowered through recently signed agreements which are a prerequisite for boosting economic cooperation between the two countries.
