ADRION 11 LIVEX from June 6-10 2011 in Montenegro

The Ministry of Defence today held a press conference on the ADRION 11 LIVEX exercise that will be held from June 6 to 10 in the port of Bar and the territorial waters of Montenegro.

At the same time, the Final Planning Conference for Exercise Combined Endeavor 2011 will be held in Becici.

ADRION initiative was launched during the bilateral staff discussions between Italian and Greek RM 2001, with the aim to initiate cooperation with the navies of countries of the Adriatic-Ionian Basin (Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Greece, Italy and Slovenia) by conducting joint exercises (CAX and LIVEX), visiting ports, seminars,  workshops, etc. The first meeting of ADRION Steering Group was held on 1 December 2004, in Rome, whereby its operationalisation began. First LIVEX exercise was held in Ancona, in 2006, where RTOP-404 participated from the composition of AFNME.

Invaluable experience for officers and units of AFNME

Establishing a Host Nation Support doctrine
Inter-Ministerial and Inter-Agency cooperation of relevant institutions in Montenegro

AIM OF THE EXERCISE
Increase regional maritime cooperation in order to enhance common understanding and knowledge of doctrines and procedures of participating countries.

EXERCISE SCENARIO
The exercise is performed as per fictional and more detailed scenario, which has no common points to the actual events anywhere in the world in any of its parts. It was made just for the exercise "ADRION 11 LIVEX " and fully supports the exercise objectives.
