Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (13 June 2011) – Prime Minister Igor Lukšić made his first official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he discussed bilateral and regional cooperation with Presidency Chairman Nebojša Radmanović and Presidency Members Bakir Izetbegović and Željko Komšić and commended regional efforts on joining the EU.

The PM also welcomed in particular the completion of Croatia’s EU entry talks and Serbia’s meeting of international commitments as good news for the EU integration of the entire region.

The two sides agreed that Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro share a common European path and may serve as an excellent example of good neighbourly relations in the region.

PM Lukšić underlined that economic cooperation should be intensified in the coming period, putting special emphasis on the importance of bilateral agreements on border demarcation, social insurance, and tourism. He also stressed that close regional cooperation sends a strong message that the countries of the region are ready to work together towards their common EU goals and to the best interest of their citizens.
