Montenegro is thankful for “highly motivating German support” in attaining its EU and NATO objectives, considering it a “signal that the Western Balkans countries have a tangible European perspective,” Prime Minister Igor Lukšić told the press following his talks with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle earlier today in Berlin.

“We are approaching the moment when we will be able to send very good news to the European Commission,” PM Lukšić remarked, referring to Montenegro’s endeavours to implement the Action Plan for meeting the seven key priorities for opening EU entry talks, particularily emphasising judiciary reform and passing of new legislation in the Parliament.

German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle highly commended Montenegro's hard work in meeting the EU membership objectives, reiterating German’s commitment to further promote Montenegro’s European path.

“You can count on Germany and we will be a reliable partner of Montenegro”, German Foreign Minister concluded.

PM Lukšić concluded his two-day visit to Germany, where he also met with parliamentary representatives and a group of entrepreneurs.
