Budva, Montenegro (1 July 2011) -- Prime Minister Igor Lukšić meet with his Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borisov for talks on political and economic cooperation earlier today in Budva.

Both sides agreed that the political relations between the two countries are at a very high level, which has been proved by today’s signing of the Agreement on cooperation concerning European integration.

Prime Minister Lukšić briefed Mr Borisov about Montenegro’s track record in attaining the EU and NATO membership criteria, hoping for the Bulgarian experience to be of paramount significance in this regard.

“Montenegro is one of the countries that pursue the fastest track towards the EU and NATO membership“, the Bulgarian Prime Minister told the press following the meeting, voicing confidence for the Montenegrin Parliament to pass all the laws necessary for the county's EU accession.

PM Borisov also noted that, apart from cooperation in energy and tourism, the two Governments will make every effort to intensify cooperation in the fields of infrastructure and air traffic.

He concluded by thanking Montenegro for choosing Bulgaria to issue Montenegrin visas in the countries in which Montenegro does not have its own diplomatic missions.
