A meeting with military attachés

A regular semi-annual meeting of resident and nonresident military attachés accredited in Montenegro was held on 1st July at the training ship Jadran.

The official part of the meeting was opened by the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro Col. Zoran Lazarevic, who expressed his satisfaction with the quality and successful collaboration with all military attachés. He expressed his gratitude for all the support that these countries give to Montenegro on its path of Euro-Atlantic and European integration.

Military attachés were addressed by the Head of International Relations Department Major Sasa Jovanovic, Head of NATO and the EU Department Captain Dragoslav Pumpalovic, Deputy Head of the Verification Centre Major Nenad Pavlovic, and Major Ilija Dakovic from the J5 Department of the General Staff, who briefed the attachés on the work of these organizational units and the latest results and achievements of Montenegro on its path towards the EU and NATO, as well as plans and projects in the future.

Military attachés positively evaluated successful defence reforms, and Montenegro's efforts to actively contribute to regional stability and global peace. They supported this way of informing and semi-annual gathering and concluded that such encounters are an excellent opportunity for exchanging views and strengthening cooperation. Also, they said that their countries will continue to actively support Montenegro in the process of defence reform and in achieving its strategic objectives, full NATO and EU membership.
