The Ministry of Defence hosted a two-day working visit of Mr. Guy Cherruel, Senior Air Defence Analyst in the NATO HQ. The meeting was opened by Deputy Minister for Defence Policy Drasko Jovanovic, who said that he is convinced that we can reach the most effective system of supervision and control of airspace with joint efforts of NATO experts and regional partners.

The two-day meetings, besides the representatives of the Ministry of Defence and the Army of Montenegro, were attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs, the Agency for Civil Aviation, Terminal Flight Control Podgorica and the General Secretariat of the Government that are responsible for the supervision and control of airspace.

Results of the study for the supervision and control of airspace were presented on the first day of the visit, with the emphasis on considering the Regional approach for supervision and protection of airspace in the Balkans.

On the second day, the discussion continues on optimal solutions of supervision and control of airspace, as well as on issues of command and information system that would allow data exchange at national and regional level with the EU and NATO.
