Podgorica, Montenegro (7 July 2011) -- The Government adopted the Draft Law on Civil Servants, as envisaged by the Action Plan for meeting EU membership objectives in the area of state administration reform.

The Draft law is aimed at advancement of civil servants professionalism, depoliticisation of state administration and strengthening of fair employment and merit-based promotion policies, Interior Minister Ivan Brajović told the press earlier today.

He added that a number of issues defined by the Draft Law, namely the prevention of conflict of interest, protection of those who report corruption, protection of personal data, etc, correspond with the European Commission's Opinion recommendations, as well as the best international standards and good practices of the EU member states.
