Sector for Industry and Entrepreneurship

Sector for Industry and Entrepreneurship performs tasks which are related to: organization, coordination, preparation of draft articles and proposals on laws and other regulations which are being adopted by the virtue of laws in the field of industry and entrepreneurship; participation in preparation and providing opinions on drafts and proposals of laws and other regulations which are prepared by other bodies; giving expert instructions, opinions and interpretations; forms of company organizations and insolvency of companies; policy aimed at supporting economic development and entrepreneurship, small and medium-sized enterprises and handicrafts; policy aimed at supporting new production and business technologies; monitoring of situation and trends in industrial production as a whole and in individual sectors and sub-sectors; organizational and production restructuring of companies from the field of industry; preparation of analysis, reports, information and other materials from the field of industry; preparation of proposal for economic policy measures and analysis of their impact to the economic situation and operational conditions in the areas of the sector and giving opinions regarding the measures that are proposed regarding the operational conditions in certain industries or companies from these areas; harmonization of national legislation with the EU legislation in the field of this sectors; international and regional cooperation in the field of industry and entrepreneurship; monitoring activities on privatization of companies in the area of the sectors; supervision over the institutions from this department where the administrative control is conducted by the Ministry; preparation of tender documentations for public procurement under the jurisdiction of the sector; keeping required records; cooperation with other bodies in order to achieve complete realization of established policy; other works in accordance with the regulations.

Department for Industrial Development performs tasks which are related to: drafting and proposing laws and other regulations within the jurisdiction of the sector; establishing goals and measures of industrial policy; development of national strategic documents of interest for the overall development of the industry; establishing strategic directions and measures of industrial development; monitoring and analyzing situation in industrial branches, development and application of modern technology in certain industries, monitoring and analyzing development of industrial capacity and industrial products; monitoring statistical data in industrial branches and sectors, making analysis regarding the state of the industry within the scope of the Ministry; harmonization of national legislation with EU legislation in the field of the department, monitoring the restructuring of industrial companies, organizing the work of expert groups and consultations, establishment and other contacts in order to develop industry branches and activities.


Department for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Entrepreneurship performs tasks which are related to: drafting and proposing laws and other regulations within the jurisdiction of the sector; defining strategy for small and medium enterprises; monitoring of international regulation in this area and proposing measures to encourage investments into the small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship development, preparation and proposing programs for small and medium-sized enterprises and establishing directions for development of entrepreneurship, identifying and removing business barriers for the purpose of rapid development of small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurship, institutional support, encouraging interconnection between operators of small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs and their links with other undertakings, designing the economic policy measures and analyzing their impact on the development and operations of small and medium enterprises, monitoring data on entrepreneurship and development trends of entrepreneurship; harmonization of national legislation with EU legislation in the field of the department.
