Vice Admiral Samardzic and Ambassador Braun in a visit to the “Milovan Saranovic” barracks

Chief of the Armed Forces of Montenegro Vice Admiral Dragan Samardzic and U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro Sue Kay Braun visited the members of the Armed Forces of Montenegro and Maine National Guard who participate in joint training in the barracks “Milovan Saranovic” in Danilovgrad.

Vice Admiral Samardzic expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the United States and he said that all activities in the field of bilateral cooperation are aimed at fulfilling the objectives of partnerships that are necessary to achieve interoperability with NATO standards.

“We have a very good cooperation with the U.S. EUCOM and Montenegro also successfully hosted a military medical exercise MEDCEUR 2010,” Vice Admiral Samardzic expressed the readiness of our country to host regional initiatives in the future as well.

Ambassador Braun said that Montenegro and the U.S. have a very good cooperation and expressed gratitude for the support that our country provides in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan. She also emphasized the importance of cooperation between Montenegro and the countries of the region in the field of security and expressed the readiness of the United States to support Montenegro on its path to NATO. Ambassador Braun thanked for the contribution that Montenegro provides in order to strengthen the partnership between the two countries.
