Economy Minister Vladimir Kavaric met with Ukrainian Deputy Economy Minister Vadym Kopylov to discuss the reopening of Montenegro's accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) on Wednesday.
The meeting agreed the Ukrainian side to accept the so far agreed mutual positions and to continue to negotiate the agreement on free trade that will additionally liberalise the two countries' trade on the basis of the Agreement on free trade with the EFTA countries concluded by the two countries.
By coming to these conclusions, Montenegro and Ukraine's negotiations have reached the highest point in the past two and a half years, the two officials remarked.
Ukraine has vetoed Montenegro's WTO accession by denying to sign the bilateral agreement and by requesting additional explanations of the legislation in the fields of agriculture, industry, goods and services.
