Montenegro, Russia sign judicial cooperation agreement

Podgorica, Montenegro (10 October 2011) – Justice Minister Duško Marković and his Russian counterpart Alexander Konovalov signed the Cooperation Agreement between the two justice ministries on Friday, 7 October.
The Agreement is expected to upgrade the relations between the two ministries, create preconditions for the signing of other treaties regarding international cooperation, enable the exchange of experiences and build human and instutional capacity. It is envisaged to make a strong contibution to strenghtening the rule of law in both countries and the safety of Montenegrin citizens in Russia and Russian citizens in Montenegro, Minister Marković told the press following the signing of the Agreement.
It will also, as Minister Marković hopes, advance tha capacities needed to efficiently deal with the challengies of the modern world, in particular corruption and organised crime.
