Sergeant First Class Mijailo Vuk Perišić dies in Pol-e Khomri, Afghanistan

Mijailo Vuk Perišić, Sergeant First Class, died on 10 October 2011 at the military base "Pannonia" in Pol-e Khomri, Afghanistan.

Sergeant Perišić spent a free afternoon in recreational activities. Subsequently, during the rest in his dormitory he suffered a heart attack. Montenegrin and Hungarian medical teams immediately started the resuscitation, which was unfortunately unsuccessful. Manager of the Medical Center - Hungarian physician and the chief of our medical team determined the death at 18:43 local time.

Before deployment to the mission, Perišić has passed all required medical examinations. During his stay in Afghanistan he regularly performed all the duties. According to the medical report, he did not use medical services and medication, and he did not report health problems of any kind.

NCO Mijailo Perišić, born on 21 February 1971 in Nikšić, was a member of the fourth contingent of the Armed Forces of Montenegro in the United Nations mission ISAF in Afghanistan since 22 August 2011.
