Montenegro and Serbia set to boost economic ties
Podgorica, Montenegro (23 November 2011) – Montenegro and Serbia are determined to upgrade economic cooperation and create an attractive environment for new investments, the two Prime Ministers, Igor Lukšić and Mirko Cvetković, told the press after their meeting earlier today in Podgorica.
One of the steps towards achieving the goal is today’s opening of the Serbian-Montenegrin business club in Podgorica, the two officials underlined.
The fact that over 100 companies from Serbia and Montenegro are the members of the club, PM Lukšić noted, indicates that there is huge interest in intensifying economic relations and further investments.
“By attending the business club’s opening ceremony, PM Lukšić and I wished to underline the significance of forging closer ties between the two countries’ business people. They enjoy our support and we hope their efforts to have positive impact on the living standard in both countries as well as on their profit,” Prime Minister Cvetković said.
He also remarked that today’s meeting confirms that Montenegro and Serbia share excellent bilateral relations which are to be even bettered and congratulated Montenegro on its progress towards EU membership.
