Progress towards EU requires responsible attitude of all social stakeholders, PM Lukšić and EU’s Lajcak stress

Podgorica, Montenegro (24 February 2012) -- EU and NATO accession, as well as the economy recovery, will be the Government’s top priorities in the coming period, Prime Minister Igor Lukšić told Miroslav Lajcak, EEAS Managing Director for Russia, Eastern Neighbourhood and the Western Balkans, earlier today.

Mr Lajcak pointed out that Montenegro’s commitment to European and Euro-Atlantic integration demonstrates its willingness to respond properly to integration’s challenges.

In that regard, he underlined that the constitutional reform should be in the limelight in the coming period, as it is of paramount importance for the entire society, adding that all social stakeholders’ participation will be a key to its success.

PM Lukšić stressed on this occasion that the budgetary stability, structural reforms and advancement of business environment are the three Montenegrin socio-economic policy pillars.

He also noted that Mr Lajcak’s visit to Montenegro is an additional proof that Montenegro’s achievements are properly acknowledged in European cycles.
