Podgorica, Montenegro (12 March) -- The EU expert mission stays in Montenegro until Friday to examine Montenegro‘s achievements in the field of rule of law, with special emphasis on fight against corruption and organised crime.

During the next five days, the 3-member expert mission will hold 50 meetings with 18 Montenegrin institutions dealing with these challenges and visit municipalities of Ulcinj and Budva, Chief Negotiator for EU accession Aleksandar Pejović said at the meeting with the EU experts.

He expressed hope that the mission’s report will result in a very analytic and thorough report which will be very useful for the European Commission’s assessment of Montenegro’s progress in these areas, as well as for the EU General Affairs Council when deciding on opening the accession talks with Montenegro in June.
