Montenegro, Albania officials discuss concrete projects on two countries' agenda
Podgorica, Montenegro (6 April 2012) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Milan Roćen met with Albanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto for talks on bilateral relations earlier today in Podgorica.
The two countries cherish excellent neighbourly relations and share many common objectives, the two officials underlined at the press conference following their meeting, adding that they took the opportunity to discuss concrete projects on Montenegro-Albania intensive agenda.
They mentioned projects with regard to border management, improvement of road infrastructure between the two countries, as well as the projects related to Skadar Lake and Bojana River, Adriatic-Ionian motorway and Trans Adriatic Pipeline.
Minister Roćen emphasised on that occasion that the two countries singed an Annex to the Agreement on mutual travel of citizens in late 2011. The agreement, which entered into force15 days ago, enables Montenegrin and Albanian nationals to travel between the two countries using biometric identity cards, Minister Roćen explained.
The presence of the Albanian community in Montenegro contributes positively to Montenegro's development and is a basis for good mutual relations, Minister Haxhinasto concluded.
