Job Vacancy: Interpreter/Translator
The Austrian Standards Institute (ASI)/Association française de Normalisation (AFNOR) consortium is assisting the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism in implementing an EU funded Twinning Project “Achieving highest safety and technical quality of construction” for 18 months commencing in May 2012 in Podgorica.
For this project we require an interpreter/translator to perform important tasks for a successful implementation. This is an interesting and challenging opportunity for an individual to gain experience in working with EU procedures, EU and Montenegrin officials.
Job Description:
1. Assisting the Resident Twinning Advisor (RTA) in all delegated tasks,
2. Translating documents between English and Montenegrin, and vice versa;
3. Interpreting, both consecutively and simultaneously, between English and Montenegrin, and vice versa;
4. Providing general support to the RTA and RTA Assistant with project and office management,
5. Assisting international short term experts during their missions in Montenegro, as required,
6. Assisting with organisation of training programmes.
Essential Skills
1. Excellent command of English and Montenegrin for translation and interpretation;
2. Good IT skills for email and Microsoft Office packages;
3. Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills with a dedication to the project;
4. A relevant university degree or professional qualification.
Desirable Skills
1. Relevant experience of similar project administration
2. Understanding of the political, legal and administrative situation in Montenegro;
Remuneration package:
1. A salary of €1000 per month;
2. Annual leave based on 2 days/ month worked;
3. Based at Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, Podgorica.
