Montenegrin cadet Savo Franovic is one of 14 foreign representatives who successfully completed the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis. In the final graduation ceremony of naval officers Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Navy pilots, cadet Franovic graduated in the class which numbered about 1099 cadets.

U.S. Defence Secretary Leon Panetta congratulated on their success and shown results, emphasizing that the cadets upon completion of the prestigious Academy made an important step in their professional career.

In the ceremony symbolically was honoured 100-years tradition of upon reception of diploma students throwing up of their sailor hats in the air. This year's promotion of new officers would be remembered for being the first time in Academy history that the best officer cadet in the class was foreign student and that for the first time graduated cadet was a paraplegic.

Montenegrin Ambassador in Washington, Srdjan Darmanovic and Defence Attaché Lieutenant Velibor Bakrac congratulated Lieutenant Franović on graduation and wished successful new duty in the Army of Montenegro.
