Podgorica, Montenegro (7 June 2012) – Foreign Minister Milan Roćen and his Slovak counterpart and Deputy Prime Minister Miroslav Lajčák signed the Development Cooperation Agreement between the two countries in Podgorica earlier today.

FM Roćen said that Montenegro and Slovakia have established excellent political contacts at all levels, adding that there is room for boosting mutual ties, in particular in the field of economy through setting up an intergovernmental committee for economic cooperation. The two countries can also enhance its collaboration in judiciary, social welfare and education, Foreign Minister Roćen noted.

The two heads of diplomacy especially pointed out the significance of the continuation of the joint project titled “National Convention on European Integration of Montenegro 2012”, which was initiated in April 2011. The project is aimed at creating a synergy of all social stakeholders in Montenegro in the light of the forthcoming negotiations with the EU.
