Head of OSCE Mission Kopaj: Montenegro makes big step forward, OSCE support to be continued
Podgorica, Montenegro (18 December 2012) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met with newly appointed Head of OSCE Mission to Montenegro Ambassador Ljubomir Kopaj earlier today. He thanked Ambassador Kopaj on the OSCE’s support and constructive role in overall reform processes in Montenegro, particularly referring to the reform of election legislation, addressing the issues of refugees and displaced persons, strengthening rule of law and police reform.
The newly appointed ambassador commended Montenegro’s progress achieved in a short period of time.
“Montenegro has made a big step forward and you can count on our support in the future, it is our obligation to help you out. I am convinced that the cooperation will result in new concrete projects,” he stressed.
Ambassador Kopaj welcomed Montenegro’s commitment to regional stability and highlighted its role of a stability factor in the region.
“It is the Government’s top priority to cooperate and strengthen relations with the countries of the region, as stability, security and good regional cooperation are the basis of economic and democratic development,” he noted.
In that regard, the meeting welcomed the implementation of the sub-regional cooperation agreement that contributes significantly to the preservation of peace and stability in the region.
