Government to encourage entrepreneurship and innovations, PM Đukanović says

Podgorica, Montenegro (26 December 2012) -- Prime Minister Milo Đukanović participated Monday in the event sponsored by the Investment and Development Fund, that aimed to spread ideas and find new cooperation possibilities between the Montenegrin companies, entrepreneurs and agriculture manufacturers, through examples of good practice and case studies, which are derived primarily from domestic business environment.

The top priority policy of the Montenegrin Government is to create conditions for increasing productivity, creating new jobs and improving the standard of living through networking knowledge and capital, PM Đukanović said in his welcome address.

“In the world of growing competitiveness, only economies based on knowledge, application of new technologies and efficient use of resources can be sustainable and prosperous. We want to build a society of knowledge and to create conditions that will encourage entrepreneurship and innovations, “he underlined.

By the same token, PM Đukanović stress the important role of the Investment and Development Fund in expanding businesses and supporting entrepreneurship’ initiatives aimed at economic progresss of the country.

He made particular reference to the recently signed financial arrangement with the European Investment Bank for the purpose of strengthening small and medium sized business, creating new jobs and more balanced regional development of the country.

“In the next period, over EUR 100 million of direct loan support of the Fund will be available to entrepreneurship and businesses... I encourage entrepreneurs to take this opportunity to realise their ideas, with the support of the Government and the Investment and Development Fund,” the Prime Minister concluded.
