Completion of USAID mission confirms achieved progress in pursuing reforms in Montenegro

Podgorica, Montenegro (5 February, 2013) – Montenegro’s successful development path of is the result of the efforts invested in the consolidation of the reform processes and is a confirmation of a long-standing partnership relations between Montenegro and the USAID, the meeting between Advisor to Prime Minister for Foreign Policy Nebojša Kaluđerović and US Ambassador Sue K. Brown and USAID Mission Director Susan K. Fritz concluded on Monday.

USAID Mission Director Fritz commended Montenegro’s track record concerning the country’s democratic and overall development, especially when it comes to the process of social transformation and EU and NATO integration. During a 12-year period of the USAID presence, the Montenegrin institutions’ commitment resulted in creating a strong basis for further implementation of the country’s strategic goals, she stressed.

Thanks to the successful cooperation, Montenegro has reached its set objectives and the USAID has completed its mission, the meeting underlined.

In Ambassador’s Brown words, the partnership will be given a new dimension in which Montenegro, as a responsible partner, continues to participate in the programmes related to security and defence, rule of law and educational exchange, relying in particular on its partners from the USA.
