Azerbaijani investors seriously interested in investing in Montenergro

PR BureauPodgorica, Montenegro (12 March 2013) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who is paying an official visit to Montenegro.

Relations between the two countries have been developing dynamically, which resulted in concrete projects in tourism and investment sectors, PM Đukanović pointed out. He reiterated his Government’s willingness to work hard towards strengthening the partnership, especially the economic one.

In that regard, PM Đukanović pointed out that the cooperation experience with Azerbaijani investors has been positive, adding that there is room for intensifying communication between business people of the two countries in the fields of energy, tourism, transport, etc.

Stable political and economic circumstances, as well as consistent Montenegro Government’ policy, send positive signals to potential Azerbaijani investors, President Aliyev underlined.

Emphasising that the project related to the long-term lease of the “Orijen Battalion” barracks in Kumbor, Montenegro, for a period of 90 years by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), is the greatest Azerbaijani investment project in tourism outside the country, President Aliyev said that the leading companies from Azerbaijan are willing to establish cooperation with Montenegro in other areas as well.

Following the meeting, Prime Minister Đukanović and President Aliyev attended the presentation of the future luxury resort in Kumbor, worth more than EUR 4 billion, as well as the presentation of the Baku park and street project in Podgorica.
