PM Đukanović meets with EU member states' ambassadors to Montenegro

Podgorica, Montenegro (13 March 2013) – At the meeting with ambassadors of EU member states in Montenegro on Wednesday, Prime Minister Milo Đukanović informed them about the Government's activities during the first 100 days of its mandate, particularly referring to the financial consolidation aimed at reducing the budget deficit and creating a larger GDP, as a condition of stability and acceleration of the country’s economic growth.

PM Đukanović acquainted the ambassadors with the activities undertaken in reconstructing the industrial systems in Montenegro, carrying on structural reforms, implementing infrastructural projects and creating conditions for attracting new investments.

As to Montenegro's EU integration process, the meeting concluded that Montenegro has been making extensive efforts in meeting requirements from European agenda and that it has been implementing the overall reform for meeting European standards on schedule.

Head of EU Delegation to Montenegro Mitja Drobnič and EU member states’ ambassadors voiced satisfaction with the beginning of the accession talks and confirmed the member states’ determination to provide support to Montenegro in its further integration process.
