PM Đukanović takes part in 8th Brussels Forum
Brussels, Belgium (17 March 2013) -- Prime Minister Milo Đukanović attended the opening session of the 8th Brussels Forum, which addressed the pressing challenges currently facing both sides of the Atlantic. The main topic of the session was the world economy crisis and its consequences.
The German Marshall Fund of the United States' Brussels office hosts the annual Brussels Forum, which traditionally brings together the most influential US and European politicians, heads of states and governments, senior officials from the EU member states, the USA cabinet officials, representatives of the Congress, MPs, intellectual business elite and media representatives.
The Conference discussed current security issues and challenges, such as the North and South Europe - clash of civilisations, the future of the Euro-Atlantic integration, economic partnership between Europe and USA, Mali and Syria - coping with current crisis, Egyptian and Arab media after the revolution, human rights, foreign aid to Afghanistan after 2014 and other relevant issues.
PM Đukanović delivered a speech at the panel “Future of Euro-Atlantic integration” and discussed Montenegro’s perception of the NATO enlargement process, the country's aspiration to become a part of the Euro-Atlantic community and the importance of the issue for the safety of the entire region.
