Podgorica, Montenegro (23 March 2013) – Finance Minister Radoje Žugić and Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Ivan Brajović met with representatives of Turkish consortium Dogus-Ruslan for talks on the construction of Bar-Boljare motorway on Friday.
A large number of reputable companies have shown their interest in the construction of the motorway and the Government is holding intensive negotiations with them, ministers Žugić and Brajović said. They added that the Government’s priorities when it comes to the selection of partners in the project are the financial viability within Montenegro’s budget, the speed of the project’s implementation and constructors' references.
The Turkish partners expressed high interest in the project, especially in the priority section from Podgorica to Mateševo, adding that they are willing, in case they start the cooperation, to adjust and accept to the maximum degree the modes of provision in terms of coal and bauxite exploitation, and in terms of concession and property which would be adequately valorised. Such an agreement would be of prime importance, as it would contribute to the reduction of fiscal exposure of the state in that regard, the meeting concluded.
