Podgorica, Montenegro (9 April 2013) – Montenegro and the OSCE have developed very good cooperation which resulted in the democratisation of the Montenegrin society, advancement of its electoral system, strengthening the rule of law and empowering institutions, the meeting between Prime Minister Milo Đikanović and President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Wolfgang Grossuck agreed earlier today.

PM Đukanovič voiced satisfaction with the quality of Montenegro-OSCE communication thanks to which the highest standards had been implemented into Montenegro’s electoral system, which is significant for the overall progress of the country.

“We are very proud of our cooperation with the ODIHR thanks to which we advanced our electoral system,” PM Đukanović pointed out.

Mr Grossuck commended Montenegro active role in the work of the Parliamentary Assembly, as well as its progress in economy and overall democratisation, adding that it is the best example of how to establish a functional democracy. The way Montenegro faces with challenges of the electoral process is a confirmation of its democratic maturity, President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly pointed out.
