Czech Republic and Slovakia strongly support Montenegro's EU and NATO accession process

Bratislava, Slovakia (19 April 2013) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met yesterday in Bratislava with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg, and Speaker of the Slovak National Assembly Pavol Paska.
During his meeting with Mr Schwarzenberg, PM Đukanović highlighted that the Czech Republic had an important role at the earlier stages of Montenegro’s EU and NATO accession process and underlined that the Czech Government and Minister Schwarzenberg contributed to the acknowledgement of the Montenegrin results. The two officials stressed that the two countries have good bilateral relations and exchanged views on the improvement of economic cooperation, especially in the fields of infrastructure projects and energy.
PM Đukanović thanked Speaker of the Slovak National Assembly Pavol Paska for the continued support that Slovakia provides to Montenegro and other states of the Western Balkans in the Euro-Atlantic integration process. The meeting underlined that the good cooperation between the two parliaments should be improved through an intensive collaboration between the Committee on European Affairs of the Slovak Parliament and the Committee on European Affairs of the Montenegrin Parliament.
