Government of Japan to encourage Japanese companies to invest in Montenegro

Podgorica, Montenegro (9 May 2013) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met yesterday with Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Minoru Kiuchi.

PM Đukanović thanked the Government of Japan for continuing support and technical assistance to Montenegro, adding that positive experience of cooperation in the field of investments serves as a basis for improving collaboration with Japanese investors. He also informed Mr Kiuchi about the potentials that Montenegro offers in tourism and wide range of other areas.

Parliamentary Vice-Minister Kiuchi announced the resumption of talks which will foster economic cooperation between the two states, adding that the Japanese Government will encourage Japanese companies to make investments in Montenegro.

Mr Kiuchi expressed his full support for Montenegro’s Euro-Atlantic integration process and highlighted that Montenegro has a constructive role in delivering peace and security in the region.
