Podgorica, Montenegro (24 July 2013) -- Deputy Prime Vujica Lazović hosted earlier today Alexandra Cas Granje, Director for Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia, Turkey and Iceland at the Directorate General for Enlargement.

The meeting particularly addressed Montenegro’s obligations deriving from its EU agenda and agreed that a high degree of consensus has been reached in terms of the country's European and Euro-Atlantic integration priorities.

DPM Lazović briefed Mrs Cas Granje on current macroeconomic trends, noting that Montenegro has succeeded, despite many challenges, in maintaining its macroeconomic and fiscal stability. Additional budget revenues were provided through improved fiscal discipline, while the government has been working on long-term plans aimed at evaluating key development sectors, namely energy, tourism and agriculture.

Director at the Directorate General for Enlargement Alexandra Cas Granje announced the adoption of a new enlargement package in October, which will define public finance management measures, so that EU candidate countries could have clear criteria for harmonising their activities with European standards through real reform of their systems.
